A Word from Pastor

Those Who are Forgiven the Most, Love the Most

Luke 7: 36 – 47

36 Now one of the Pharisees invited Jesus to have dinner with him, so he went to the Pharisee's house and reclined at the table. 37 When a woman who had lived a sinful life in that town learned that Jesus was eating at the Pharisee's house, she brought an alabaster jar of perfume, 38 and as she stood behind him at his feet weeping, she began to wet his feet with her tears. Then she wiped them with her hair, kissed them and poured perfume on them.

39 When the Pharisee who had invited him saw this, he said to himself, "If this man were a prophet, he would know who is touching him and what kind of woman she is — that she is a sinner."

40 Jesus answered him, "Simon, I have something to tell you."

"Tell me, teacher," he said.

41 "Two men owed money to a certain moneylender. One owed him five hundred denarii, and the other fifty. 42 Neither of them had the money to pay him back, so he canceled the debts of both. Now which of them will love him more?"

43 Simon replied, "I suppose the one who had the bigger debt canceled."

"You have judged correctly," Jesus said.

44 Then he turned toward the woman and said to Simon, "Do you see this woman? I came into your house. You did not give me any water for my feet, but she wet my feet with her tears and wiped them with her hair. 45 You did not give me a kiss, but this woman, from the time I entered, has not stopped kissing my feet. 46 You did not put oil on my head, but she has poured perfume on my feet. 47 Therefore, I tell you, her many sins have been forgivenfor she loved much. But he who has been forgiven little loves little." NIV

Five key points to Worship

1. Worship usually takes place at the feet of Jesus, worship at the feet of Jesus acknowledges His greatness and our unworthiness; His perfection, and our sinfulness.

2. Worship that exalts or focus on man is not true worship.

3. Worship is cantered around the person of Jesus Christ. The woman demonstrated that to worship Jesus you must be completely focused on him and not to be distracted, they were lots of reasons for her to be distracted.

4. Worship is not self cantered. A lot of people come to Our Lord Jesus Christ only for what they could receive from him, but her principal aim was to just worship him.

5. Worship involves the emotions.

6. Worship is not easily discouraged. The woman had much reason why she should have stayed away from Jesus and not come to worshipped Him. She did not get an invitation. She would be made fun of, yet in spite of these many difficulties, the woman did what she desperately desired to do—she worshipped Jesus.

Jesus says in John 4:24; 24 God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth." NIV

Divine Favour

Favour is better than money,  Money cannot buy favour, but favour can bring money
Favour will determine the level of your income
Favour will show up in your life when you associate with the right people
The same way favour will leave you when you associate with the wrong people
The people you associate with are like elevators – they will either take you up or pull you down that is why there is power of association

1. Favour will and can change a negative situation or report
Then the king instructed Ashpenaz, the master of his eunuchs, to bring some of the children of Israel and some of the king's descendants and some of the nobles,
young men in whom there was no blemish, but good-looking, gifted in all wisdom, possessing knowledge and quick to understand, who had ability to serve in the king's palace, and whom they might teach the language and literature of the Chaldeans.
The King instructed his guards to feed the Daniel hananiah Mishael and  Azariah with the kings delicacies and the wine which he drank, and three years of training for them, so that at the end of that time they might serve before the king.
Now from among those of the sons of Judah were Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah.
To them the chief of the eunuchs gave names: he gave Daniel the name Belteshazzar; to Hananiah, Shadrach; to Mishael, Meshach; and to Azariah, Abed-Nego.

The bible says in Dan 1:8-10

8 But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king's delicacies, nor with the wine which he drank; therefore he requested of the chief of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.

9 Now God had brought Daniel into the favor and goodwill of the chief of the eunuchs.
NKJV

God Showed Daniel favour with the Eunuch and change a negative situation into a positive one  Daniel 1:9
Sarah was barren but the when the lord showed her favour
Genesis 21:1  The bible says that God showed her favour and she brought forth a son

2. Favour is a seed that can be sown

Galatians 6:7 do not be deceived God cannot be mocked whatever a man sows that also will he reap if you sow favour you will reap favour.
If you sow favour you will reap favour
Galatians 6:9-10  Do not become weary in doing good for at the proper time we will reap a reward if we do not give
Do not get tired of doing favour for the people around you

3. Grow in Favour   Luke 2:52

4. Favour will cause you to rise to the top

Gen 39: 2-5
Gen 39: 20-23
Gen 41:14

Whatever field we are in, the secret for success is enjoying God's favour.
